Showdown at Sundown

Nathan.....

Swam 750 meters (1/2 mile)......

Biked 15 miles.....
Ran 3 miles....

and finished his 2nd triathalon!  Woo hoo!!!

He did great!  The triathalon was held out at Lake Las Vegas.  A beautiful place for a triathalon other than the fact there were very few places to actually watch him in action.  I am so proud of Nathan!  He finished in good time, and he felt pretty darn great when he finished!  To be honest he felt better than I did just from standing around watching, taking pictures, and waiting while 8 months pregnant.  Sad huh?  He did all the hard work and he was happy as a clam and ready to play with friends after!  All in all he was happy with how he did!  However, he has admitted that swimming 3 times prior to the race doesn't count as "training."  Go figure huh?  He ran the race with Stephanie, a friend of ours.  Her goal was to beat Nathan over all.  Nathan was SURE he would smoke her, but I kept trying to warn him that swimming 3 times is not "training" and that Steph had been training pretty hard for all 3 legs of the race and she is a really good swimmer.  Nathan trained a little, I would say, for the run and bike at least.  However he went into the race confident that beating Stephanie wasn't going to be an issue.
The following day, the results were posted online.  Stephanie beat him!!!!  All together she finished faster than Nathan did!  Ok, Ok, so what I didn't mention is that Stephanie swam in college too.  (but I still warned Nathan)  She beat him by about 3 minutes total time....so not too bad for either of them.  I have to say I was extremely impressed and proud of my husband for his humility and good sportsmanship.  He showed me the results and said "I think I should probably call Stephanie and tell her congrats and that I'm very impressed"  So he calls....and I hear cute Steph (who hadn't looked at the results yet) screaming with excitment on the phone!  She said "that's all I wanted to do was beat you!"  hahaha Funny.  They both did great!  And Nathan is now determined to "train" for another one, we will see how it goes.  hehe  Good Job babe!
