sorry about my loud creepy laugh....but what a funny little boy! And this was even the 2nd time watching so I could video it....still funny the 3rd time too.

12 months!

A few more pictures of our 1 year old in his first tie and easter/birthday outfit.  His hair is crazy just like him and we just think you are adorable!

Colton's 1st Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday Colton!!  We can't believe you have grown up so fast!  You were walking by 11 months, you had 8 teeth by your 1st birthday.  You are now 20 pounds and in a big boy carseat. 

Things that make you happy: You love your baby einstein dvds and going outside for walks.  You love to look out the window and wait for daddy to come home.  Your giggles are so contagious and you especially love it when we throw you around on the bed or swing you upside down.  Kitty is your best friend, he lets you "pat" him and use him as a pillow for your cuddles.  You think it's funny to stand on your head and wait for us to come tickle you. 

You are the friendliest baby we have ever met.  We get stopped every time we go anywhere for someone who wants to meet and admire you!  And of course you smile and charm them and are ready to be their new best friend!  You will go to anyone and give them hugs and sometimes you deny your mom or dad if someone else has you!  Plane trips are hilarious as the people next to us are always playing games with you when they think I'm not looking, but once they realize I see them, they want to ask me all about you.  You hang out with the local high school homecoming queen and her cheerleader friends and have 40 year old ladies asking for your number. (Creepy but true!)  

You got lots of fun presents for your birthday, your favorites are your slide climber, the old fashioned phone and the activity cube for your peek a boo blocks.  You will especially love the recorded books from your grandparents when we live far away.  You do love to walk around and "read" books all day.  It's one of your favorite things to do along with throwing I mean chucking things overboard.  Over your high chair, the gate, your crib, you almost managed to get a pacifier out the window of the car, from the middle seat!

  I love that you are big enough to come climb in my lap and give me loves throughout the day.  You love music and you go to sleep best with your goodnight songs.  However you still do NOT sleep great.  You have already given up your pacifiers except for naps and bedtime.  You happily toss them into the box when you wake up and pick them out before you go to sleep.  You are starting to dance but you don't like to perform, so it's hard to capture some of your cute moments.

We had lots of fun at your paty, you were so exhausted after all the excitement.  You started to get the hang of opening presents and were more interested in eating the giftwrap than playing with your new toys.  We love our little monster, monkey, love bug and angel.  You are the joy of our lives and we can't wait to see what you will do next....

It's a tiny monster for our tiny monster! He only ate the horns and then was done!

11 month photo shoot

Nathan sent us away so he could study and we didn't distract him for his boards. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Paces. Colton was of course spoiled and grandpa couldn't resist taking him outside at Coltons constant request all day. We had so much fun, Colton loved to play in the grass and even the dirt.

 Also a trip to Panera Bread, in which we had a few melt downs and food thrown over board.  His first time in a swing and on a slide!  He thought he could climb up the slide from day 1...and well he was right!

Saturday Night Fun

10 months

Well I'm about 3 weeks behind he is almost 11 months...oh well!  Colton has been keeping us crazy busy, he loves walking with his new push n ride zebra toy and he crashes it into things and is still learning how to back it out and keep going when he gets stuck.  His latest thing is to throw his food over and really anything he can throw over or into is great if you ask him!  We have all been very sick around here and are recovering well finally.  It's horrible when a baby is sick, he took lots of showers and became even more of a cuddler since he got sick, which we don't mind.  It's hard to get cuddles from him now that he is so busy.  He likes to show us everything he is playing with, and play hide and go seek with mama and dada.  He is such a charmer and a sweet baby!  He is supposed to be at the shy, stranger fear stage, and he is sort of.  He isn't so quick to smile at strangers but if you don't give up after the first try he will be your new best friend.  We had an uxepected visit from Kristen and it was so fun to see her.  Colton would give her cuddles and play with her.  He is such a sweet natured baby and I'm so glad that he is loving to everyone.  We have 6 teeth now, have had the croup, and he is almost 19 pounds!  We are gearing up for his first birthday party with monsters!  It should be fun, more details to come!

Our newest nephew...

We all took a super quick trip up to St. George for our newest nephews blessing.  It was so fun to see everyone! Jared and Jamie, and Dan and Melissa and all their kids!  We stayed with Ron and Annette for 1 night in which Colton decided to wake up every hour and a half all night!  Then to top that off, we woke up to SNOW!!  The kids have all grown up so much!  Little Colby is 4 months old and super cute!  It was our first time getting to meet him, he smiled so big and was such a sweet baby!  He was brought to a very loving family and it was so cute to see his big brothers and sisters taking care of him and loving him and knowing exactly what he needs, even got Colby to "talk" to them.  We can't wait for him to grow up a little more so he and Colton can be friends.  Thanks for having us!  We miss you all! 

9 months



What a Stud!!

Our silly monkey is 9 months old!  I know I'm getting this post up a little late but hey better late than never!  Our little guy started crawling 2 days after Christmas.  He likes to keep one leg straight and crawl with the other leg it's like he has a peg leg, thus we sometimes call him our little peg leg (with love of course! haha)  He is 18 lbs and 28 1/4 inches.  He is tall and thin the doctor said. He has 4 teeth.  The bottom 2 middle and the top 2 no not the middle ones, but the ones next to his middle.  Wierd huh?



Mama....or dada??? Both please!!





He can say both "mama" and "dada" Nathan and I fight over who he really is recognizing first.  Secretely we each are always trying to get him to say ours first...or not so secretly haha.  His favorite thing to babble is "babababababa"  and recently he likes to copy daddy when he quotes "Whaaaaaat??"  from Dispicable Me.  It's hilarious!  He has mastered his sippy and gets rather excited when we give it to him, and his favorite thing to eat are these funny "lil crunchies, veggie dips" They are kind of like puff cheetos for babies.  He cries when he eats them all (not sure I'm liking his new little fits) and laughs when we give him more.  They are sure to cheer him up any time!

He prefers to stand or walk (with help) than to crawl or just be sitting.  He is always on the go and getting into everything.  Thankfully he is starting to listen when we tell him "no" to touching things he can't play with and he will take his hand away and move on.  He gives the BEST squeezes!!  Especially if you turn the vacuum on...he is interested in it, so he doesn't cry (if you hold him) and he watches it, but boy he has the death grip on mommy or daddy while its on.  Both arms wrapped tightly around our necks.  This is how he gives us squuezes too, and slobbery kisses all over.   We can never get enough of his loves.   His favorite things do play and do...well the dinosaur ball pit of course! His tool bench, which he is getting really good with and any type of container you can put things in.  He loves to "wrestle" us.  It's great fun for him if we lay on the floor or curl up in a ball on the floor, he will come crawling over and stand up on you and "hit" "bite" us all over.  (more love taps, and teething on us),  We love our little monster and are thinking of his 1st birthday which is almost here!
