Jewish people have a TON of holidays

So Nathan goes to a Jewish school so they get all the Jewish holidays off in addition to all the other regular holidays. In October he has had more than half the month off, but of course spread out 3 days here 3 days there. Still it has been fun to spend a little more time together. We have tried to put our extra time to good use. We have been working on our little backyard. Sad as it was, when we moved in all our grass had died. Not to mention that the builders put in this tiny patch just to say they landscaped the backyard. So then half of the tiny patch grew back and nothing else.

So we basically ripped out all the grass moved the border stuff and made it oh more than twice the amount of grass there was before. Now I say grass, but we seeded instead of getting sod so there isn't any "grass" yet...hopefully it will grow. We have been tempted to go buy a bb gun and shoot all these pigeons that have been eating all the seed!!! grrr...anyhow so now we have about 2 feet of rock around the perimiter of our yard and we still have to put in trees and plants and something to put around that ugly AC unit.
On another note I also made this cute valence for over the kitchen sink!!
